THE ACADEMY HISTORY

KUNG FU

We started Wing Chun Kung Fu in 1979 with a small group of friends. In the summer we trained in Leidse Hout and in the winter we rented a hall.

Due to the increasing interest, we soon had to rent a larger room and the idea arose to purchase uniform clothing.

THE ACADEMY

A name was coined and The Wing Chun Kune Academy was born!

JEET KUNE DO

In 1993 we came into contact with Ted Wong through our good friend and Jeet Kune Do instructor Richard Torres (New York, USA) and that was the beginning of our Jeet Kune Do training.

BRUCE LEE FOUNDATION

Annual seminars organized by the Bruce Lee Educational Foundation in America were a regular occurrence. San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Las Vegas, we trained a lot and got to know everyone.

Meetings with Linda Lee and Shannon Lee (wife and daughter of Bruce) are of course also part of that.

In addition, the “in between” seminars in New York, Germany, Spain, Italy, not to mention the private lessons with Ted Wong in Los Angeles, New York and the Netherlands when he was back in the country. All seminars were packed with information, and you're always amazed that you can learn something.

But beware, do not think that we mean that you should learn as much as possible. “Simplicity” is the key, Bruce said, but that will become clear when you train with us for a while!

2001 BRUCE LEE EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION SEMINAR IN THE NETHERLANDS

The highlight was the Bruce Lee Educational Foundation Seminar that we organized in the Netherlands in 2001. All of Bruce's students together, as well as his wife and daughter.

This was truly a once in a lifetime experience not to be missed. Unfortunately, this was also the last time that the BLEF was together in the old composition.

BRUCE LEE FOUNDATION

The new organization (Bruce Lee Foundation) has now been established and the board members are Linda Lee Cadwell, Shannon Lee Keasler, Ted Wong RIP, Allen Joe RIP and Taky Kimura RIP. The survival of Bruce Lee's martial art is thus guaranteed for the future.

TED WONG

We are proud to say that we belong to the 2nd generation of teachers after Bruce! We are one of the few in Europe and even the only ones in the Netherlands certified by Ted Wong to teach the original Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do.

So the students who train at The Academy are the 3rd generation after Bruce,

if you think about it for a moment.............., this is absolutely awesome!?

Try it yourself,

We train in a relaxed atmosphere, but there is a lot of sweat!

In this system there are no ties, gradations or competitions, you train for yourself, what you put in you get out, everyone who wants to defend themselves effectively is welcome.

And let's face it, what could be more exciting than being able to casually say that you belong to the 3rd generation after Bruce Lee?

INDEED: NOTHING AT ALL RIGHT!?
